Ever wanted to build your own treehouse but didn't want to be constrained by the normal, typical treehouse? How about adding in some polymer sheeting and some terraces...These seem to be more homes on stilts than what we might call treehouses. Either way, Baumraum has published a book that can help you realize your dream-tree-abode.
Really amazing costume build by a guy named Harrison Krix. There's a game called BioShock with these bad guys called "Big Daddies" who steal your genetic material. The game itself has some very good spooky/creepy art direction and is a testament to decaying deco design. So this guy, Krix of Volpin Props built one of these amazing characters and the results are likewise.
Well worth the time to read if you can. While I think his suit is brilliant, I know I could do it given the time, money & space. So, I'm just going to start building things (my true passion) and hope somebody starts asking me to build things for them.
The comics ads from the 70's and 80's are taken directly from my memory. I vividly remember skipping the comics and letters to the editor to read all the ads. Further, I specifically remember ordering the comics catalogs (Howard M. Rogofsky) and the disappointment when they arrived: $2 for 5 photocopied pages.
I think my brother actually ordered the Rattlesnake Belt Buckle. He said it matched his Hercules Wrist Band. My neighbor Joe ordered the Atlas Body and was surprised that it was just 30 photocopied pages (for a measly $15). Actually, I think the pages were mimeographed, if you remember that. Damp paper with the purple ink and a strong chemical smell...
